This past weekend, some of us from Orion, me (Rachel), our Internet Marketing Director Scott, and some of our Web Designers/Developers, John and Paul, went to Chicago for the Wordcamp Chicago event that took place Saturday and Sunday July 30-31st at Depaul University’s student center.
The event was split up into two days which consisted of topics that ranged from SEO and social media, to WordPress entrepreneurship and E-Commerce shopping carts. Scott even had the chance to lead a couple of discussions on SEO, which turned out to be very lively.
After a long first day, there was an after-party that took place at McGees on Saturday night where we had the chance to get to know some fellow Wordcampers a little more.
The conference wrapped up Sunday afternoon around 3:30pm. Overall, it was a great experience and we had a good time hearing all the great speakers, learning how to improve our WordPress skills, and meeting new people. We even left with some cool WordPress stickers and pins!

So we’re thinking perhaps its time to create a Wordcamp Milwaukee. What do you think?
Yes. That would be wild to have a WordCamp conference in Milwaukee. By the sounds of it, there are many of others in the Milwaukee area who want to learn or share more about WordPress too! Am I right?
Yes, Milwaukee WordCamp. Two tickets please.
Rick, is that you? We met at the Chicago WordCamp, right? Scott
